An issue of this type is usually the fault of the garage door sensors, and this case wasn't different. A quick inspection revealed that not only had they gotten misaligned, but their lenses were damaged as well, potentially from an impact of sorts. We replaced both units and aligned the new photo eyes so that they would properly detect obstacles and won't create a 'false-positive' malfunction.
